A typical day
9.15am – the children arrive and are welcomed by the staff. We encourage children to self register by finding their name card. Children have the opportunity to choose activities they wish to play with. Children are positively encouraged to be independent and resources are available on open shelving.
10.00am – the children are offered free flow play which provides them with the opportunity to play both indoors and out. Activities to promote all areas of development are available in both areas. Outdoor play takes place in the fully enclosed, secure car park area. All areas are supervised by adults.
Mid-morning – Snack time is offered as a café style around 10.30 – 11.30. The children are given a healthy choice of food and drink.
A healthy snack is provided Monday to Thursday at no extra cost, however on Friday to encourage children to prepare the snack, we ask each child attending to bring in a piece of fruit.
12pm – Tidy-up time! We try to make this a fun time. With adults support children are encouraged to tidy up and we sing the ‘tidy up song’.
Group time – Group time is at the end of the morning when we all join together for singing, dancing, or a story. We also have “show and tell” when the children show and tell their peers about the items they have brought in from home. We celebrate our birthdays and festivals. We all then sing the ‘goodbye song’ which brings an end to our morning.
12.30pm – End of session
